Tuna Lettuce Wraps

Special Sauce

  • ¾ c + 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 2/3 c water
  • 6 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 6 1/2 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 6 1/2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 3 ½ Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/3 tsp sesame seed oil
  • 1 – 2 Tbsp garlic, minced
  • 6 1/2 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp + 1 tsp hot mustard
  • Red chile paste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the special sauce by dissolving the sugar in water in a small bowl.
  2. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, lemon juice, sesame seed oil and garlic. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. Combine the water with the hot mustard and set this aside.
  4. In a pan, add olive oil and heat on high.
  5. Add tuna, garlic, onions, water chestnuts, and mushrooms to the pan.
  6. Sauté the mixture for a couple minutes then evenly distribute the mixture into each lettuce leaf.
  7. Drizzle with the Special Sauce and garnish with hot mustard and red chile paste.
