The demand for sustainable seafood products continues to rise. According to an industry survey by COSFF and Wakefield research from early 2022, a strong majority (nearly 75%) of food executives and buyers reported increased demand for sustainably caught and raised seafood over the previous year. With this new deal in place, Chicken of the Sea and its parent company Thai Union Group are better positioned to meet demand. “Fair Trade certification gives us the opportunity to provide [our customers] with what they want in a clear, recognisable way,” said Thai Union North America CEO Bryan Rosenberg in a press release.
